ABOUT THE JOB:
The Clinical Informatics Educator provides educational expertise and systems knowledge to ensure staff competency in the area of informatics related to the electronic medical record and other technology that interfaces with care delivery. This role designs and executes ongoing training programs for new hires and system changes/upgrades. A core function is to consult and collaborate with stakeholders to develop training solutions as well as maintain curriculum and tools to meet educational needs of physicians and clinical staff. Another responsibility is to configure the training environments for technologies to support clinical workflow practice.
This is a full-time position working remotely, Monday through Friday. Position may periodically require being onsite to support education needs and project efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* New-Hire Training: Facilitates training for new physicians and clinical staff and documents training completion for records management. This also includes the development and maintenance of training users and patients in the training environment.
* System Changes / Upgrades: Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training solutions for system changes and regular upgrades. Ensures proper communication to impacted clinical staff and operational teams. Familiar with adult learning principles and can share information in a systemic approach by sequencing and chunking content.
* Project Requests: Participates on project teams and uses all steps in the ADDIE process to deliver effective learning solutions. This includes an emphasis on measuring training effectiveness and positive learning outcomes.
* Training Consultation: Provides training expertise through consultations with stakeholders to determine appropriate solutions. This includes applying all steps in the ADDIE process.
* System Training Environments: Configures and maintains the training environment for clinical systems used for new-hire training, test-outs, and practice for new features and clinical workflows.
* Training Sustainability: Maintains all related training curriculum through regular observations with physicians and clinical staff as well as a cadence with key stakeholders and analysts.
WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 3 years of related experience working in inpatient or outpatient pharmacy settings or Epic system experience within these departments Required
* At least 2 years of previous teaching experience Preferred
* Instructional design experience Preferred
EDUCATION
* Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Epic System Application Curriculum Certification in Willow Ambulatory, Inpatient, or Inventory (required within 12 months of hire) 1 Year Required
* Epic Training Environment Build Certification Preferred
* Certification in Nursing Informatics Preferred
