Job description

OVERVIEW

The Department of Health and Exercise Science in the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, invites applicants for a Clinical Faculty position in Exercise Science starting September 2024. We seek applicants who are committed to innovation and excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. Primary responsibilities include teaching human anatomy and human anatomy labs, facilitating Exercise Science internships, and advising majors within the department. Other responsibilities include managing and maintaining lab equipment including but not limited to DEXA, Anatomage tables, and microscopes. The selected candidate is expected to participate in service activities across the department, college, and university. We seek candidates who are committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and interested in working collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary departmental team and college. 

 

Candidate Qualifications

 

Minimum qualifications to be considered for the position:  

  • A terminal degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in a related field. Alternatively, ABD and master's prepared candidates will be considered. 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Previous experience teaching at the university or college level for a minimum of one semester.  
  • Experience teaching human anatomy.  
  • Experience with Exercise Science equipment.  
  • Experience creating inclusive learning spaces that embrace diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and worldviews. 
  • Certified bone densitometer, or interest in becoming so.
