A little about the job....

• Works as department coordinator with staff , assessing plans, organizing, implementing, documenting and evaluating patient care in accordance with preoperative or nursing process and physician's treatment plans.
• Will oversee work of surgical services personnel.
• Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on departmental and patients’ assignment and are performed in accordance with hospital, professional and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications for the job...

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed in the State of Alabama. BSN preferred. BLS completion required.
• Must have a minimum of one year experience in an Operating Room environment.
• Work of job orientation and training. Acquire knowledge of department policies and procedures within assigned patient care area. Must possess analytical ability which requires use of a professional level of knowledge in nursing theory and practice in order to evaluate patient data, formulate and implement nursing care plans and document pertinent patient information. Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with the patient.
• Must be able to provide effective instructions to patients and family members.
