The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Ped - Neonatology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.
General Responsibilities
- To collect and record preliminary data for CLINICAL RESEARCH programs.
- To recruit and perform follow-up with research participants as protocols outline.
- To schedule visits according to research protocols.
- To assist in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
- To maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops, executes, and sustains clinical-oriented relational database management systems.
- Guarantees the smooth functioning and upkeep of departmental systems to effectively organize, gather, retrieve, and report data.
- Assists with recruitment at area hospitals/clinics.
- Liaisons with providers, assist with reminders to the families of meetings, patient visits, and following up with after-clinic visits.
- Creates strategies to track and document data, overseeing both incoming and outgoing data to guarantee its accuracy and adherence to relevant regulatory policies.
- Conducts thorough research and gathers information, inputting data into designated external data repositories tailored to clinical practices and retrieving it as needed.
- Ensures that the study complies with institutional guidelines.
- Acts as a point of contact for medical personnel, university departments, ancillary departments, and satellite facilities.
- Serves as an advocate for the patient, and provides advice, support, and direction.
- Assists with community resources that may be helpful to each individual's needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $41,175 - $66,915
High School diploma or GED required.
