Statement of Purpose
Clinical Bound Course Faculty serve as an instructor at a predetermined number of Clinical Bound sessions based on their full time equivalent and the needs of the university. The faculty in these positions collaborate with Clinical Bound Team leaders (CBTL) to function as Course Faculty in the assigned Clinical Bound courses (PC714 and appropriate specialty course: NM711, NP711, MH711 or WH711).The faculty will also collaborate with Student Services and Clinical Directors to provide faculty presence in Clinical Bound 101 course.
Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
In collaboration with the CBTL, the faculty assists with the delivery of the Clinical Bound Courses. This may include the following activities:
Assists individual students to improve skills as assigned by the CBTL.
- Assists with group instruction and skills check-offs as assigned by the CBTL.
- Participates in the set-up, breakdown, and clean up of the skills lab.
- Assists the CBTL with keeping an inventory of supplies, ordering supplies and equipment at the end of each session, as needed.
- Maintains communication with CBTL, Clinical Director, and appropriate Advisor/RCF about student performance and progress and/or other course-related issues.
- Participate in CBTL meetings as requested by CBTLs, PDs, CDs or ADs.
- Grades CB reflections in the Canvas learning management system within 14 days after completion of each attended Clinical Bound under direction of CBTL.
- Reports missing Reflections or concerning reflections to appropriate CBTL.
- Collaborates with student services and Clinical Director and CBTL to provide faculty presence and feedback in ongoing development and delivery of Clinical Bound 101 course as needed.
Participates in the annual Fall Faculty Meeting and Commencement
Qualifications
- Master’s of Science in Nursing, doctorate preferred.
- Certification as CNM, WHNP, PMHNP, or FNP.
Reporting Relationship
The Clinical Bound Course Faculty reports to the Department Chair
