Client Relationship Manager-Insurance
Location: Chicago, IL
Overview
Client Relationship Managers are key contributors to commercial side of Cognizant IT and Consulting Business. They support the Client Partner and act as business owners for assigned accounts, leading the day-to-day activities and P&L of these accounts. The CRM works with delivery teams to enhance backlog, optimizing the resource mix and navigating scope changes to ensure client expectations are met. They work towards establishing a positive client experience. A CRM's shared measures are margin, revenue, client satisfaction & employee retention. CRM role-specific measures are renewal win rates, revenue, and margin.
Key Responsibilities
• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders
• Understand the client environment, issues, and priorities
• Work with clients to define their problems and co-create solutions
• Drive RFPs / proactive bids with regards to renewals, extensions, and expansion
• Track of Insurance industry trends relevant to client business and bring forth proactive ideas and solutions
• Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for the clients
• Responsible for backlog growth including renewals and extensions of current engagements
• Lead the onsite project teams and ensure they understand the client environment
Required Experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a client facing role in a consulting firm or an account/engagement management role in the IT professional services offshore/outsourcing industry, within Insurance vertical.
• Experience managing Client P&L of $15 + Million dollars including reporting and metric assessment for the account
• Excellent ability and aptitude to influence and communicate effectively with business stakeholders up to the C-Suite
• Ability to interface at all levels of an organization
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and executive presentation and persuasion skills are required
• Bachelor's degree
Preferred Experience
• MS or MBA degree
• Strong background in a project environment and application development in the Insurance vertical.
• Proven ability to contribute to new business development efforts and to lead and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
• Must be detail oriented and able to manage and maintain all facets of complex assignments.
• Demonstrable problem-solving abilities with the aptitude to identify strategic solutions to business problems with enterprise-wide implications
• Demonstrate the flexibility to work among diverse corporate environments, industries, and technical and non-technical audiences

Overview
Cognizant is seeking a talented Client Relationship Manager to join its growing Insurance team to lead one or more of the company's strategic Account relationships. Client Relationship Managers play a key role in our growth and are tasked with rapid business expansion within their assigned account(s) including managing business development and delivery objectives top and bottom line P&L customer satisfaction and the overall Account relationship for one or more key account(s). They will lead a team of account managers and possibly other Client Relationship Managers to perform technical program and project management of geographically disbursed teams using established criteria and professional standards and work with architecture teams to deliver full-life cycle technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Establishing and managing Account relationship with key decision makers
Establishing and building trust and leverage Account context by understanding Accounts overall business goals
Collaborate with various internal teams to achieve the targets
Build lead and mentor the team
Build relationships with Accounts to improve Cognizant's footprint in the industry
Demonstrate strategic vision and depth to outgrow the competition and position Cognizant as the Director of choice for the Account's overall account to include work quality and customer satisfaction Contribute to new business development efforts in other verticals and facilitate those offerings Required Skills:
Minimum 5 years' experience managing a Account P&L and growing it to at least $25M+ including reporting and metric assessment for the account
Insurance domain knowledge and experience
Minimum 15 years' experience in an Account facing role or account leadership role in the IT professional services or management consulting firm
Required Experience
  • Demonstrated ability in account/engagement management in a consulting/IT professional services offshore/outsourcing industry
  • Experience in having successfully responded to driven RFPs, Proactive and reactive proposal to win and deliver services in Digital, Cloud and Data for large P&C customers
  • Experience running a P&L of $15 to $20M dollars with success in growth and service diversification in a global delivery model
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and executive presentation and persuasion skills
  • Excellent ability and skills to influence and communicate effectively with business collaborators up to the C-Suite and deliver thought leadership topics
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience
  • MS or MBA degree
  • Experience in having worked in all aspects of application development and service delivery
  • Shown ability to supply to new business development efforts on cloud, data and SaaS applications
  • Must be detail oriented and able to handle and maintain all facets of complex assignments.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving abilities with the skills to identify strategic solutions to business problems with enterprise-wide implications
  • Demonstrate the flexibility to work among diverse corporate environments, industries, and technical and non-technical audiences
