Job Summary:
The Client Manager (CM) - Surety is responsible for client relationships including growth, retention, and client satisfaction for a book of business.
Essential Functions:
- Has day-to-day surety account management responsibilities including taking bond requests, communicating with clients and marketing to obtain approvals, assembling information needed, obtaining approval, and issuing and executing bonds or renewals.
- Responsible for bond execution and resulting billing, accounting, and collections.
- Manages the client service cycle and monitors timeframes of stewardship plan and renewal deadlines.
- Participates in surety quarterly and annual meetings when available in presence of Client Executive.
- Keeps informed of all new sales & surety market programs. Attends company-sponsored seminars and educational activities necessary to maintain product knowledge and underwriting expertise.
- Maintains client electronic files & uses EPIC & Tinubu systems to perform all transactions.
- Participates in any special projects at management's request.
- Ensures legislative, regulatory, and technical developments are appropriately communicated to clients. Complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Retain and develop accounts by maintaining highest level of client service & communication.
- Develop thorough understanding of client businesses, their policies, practices, and industries, and their Surety program.
- Develop thorough understanding of surety markets, preferences, underwriting requirements, and practices.
- Understands and guides clients through the initial surety UW process & submission to the marketplace.
- Assesses client needs and questions and reviews options with clients, making sound recommendations on a day-to-day basis.
- Manage the client cycle and monitor timeframes and bond/program deadlines
- Periodically review documents for accuracy prior to customer delivery.
- Regularly ensures that all bonds are closed, updated, and filed on a timely basis.
- Participate in any special projects at managements request.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Abilities/Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Risk Management, or other related field is preferred; high school diploma or GED, in concert with industry experience, in lieu of an associates or bachelors degree is necessary.
- 3 5 years of experience, with a high level of dependability, handling large accounts.
- Experience with Epic and Tinubu (strongly preferred).
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills in written and verbal communication, planning and analysis.
- Ability to accurately perform advanced mathematical calculations.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skills of Microsoft office suite such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skills and effective use of office equipment, primarily computer, telephone, fax machine, copier and calculator.
- Above average to excellent speaking and writing skills to effectively communicate with customers and insurance companies.
Other Qualifications:
- Driving is a requirement for this position
- Property and Casualty license required for execution of bond and power of attorney
- Notary Public is desirable
