Form of workPYA is seeking aClient Accounting Advisorto join its high-performing and privately-owned firm with a dynamic culture and a strong national reputation. This individual will be a member of the Client Accounting Advisory Services (CAAS) team, working closely with the PYA Tax Department to serve PYA clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with CAAS team members on accounting projects for PYA clients
- Assist with data entry for client financial records, bank and credit card reconciliations, and accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) functions
- Prepare sales tax returns, year-end W2s and 1099s, budget and cash flow reports
- Assist with payroll processing and tax deposits
- Utilize financial reporting knowledge to prepare and analyze client balance sheets and income statements and identify/resolve client issues while balancing firm risk and compliance with appropriate professional standards
- Perform month-end close functions for clients, with an emphasis on journal entries
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting required; previous public accounting firm experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of debit and credit accounting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and basic Microsoft Word/Outlook skills required
- QuickBooks experience required
- Excellent problem-solving skills as well as written and oral communication skills
- Client-oriented work ethic, delivering high-quality results
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels, both internal and external to the firm
