CLERK’S ASSISTANT
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Clerk's Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and ensuring the efficient operation of our office. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Boards
As Needed: Set up board room for Township Board, Planning Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals meetings
Monthly Attend Planning Commission meetings as the Recording Secretary
Type minutes & post them on website
Elections
As needed with the Election Specialist (per election cycle):
Understand & utilize Qualified Voter File (QVF)
Prepare Absentee Voter Ballot applications
Process/Monitor progress of returned applications
Prepare Absentee Ballots for mailing
Process/Monitor returned Absentee Ballots
Prepare for in-person precinct election day (supplies, meals, staffing, training)
Election night facilitation as results and Election Chairpersons return
Post-election filing of paperwork, reports, supplies, ballot/application retention
Business Licenses
As Needed: Send out applications to new businesses
Process payments and applications as they are received
Cemetery
As Needed: Complete Deed process with clients
Work with monument companies, funeral homes and residents when questioned
Payroll
As Needed: Update employee records and information
Prepare reports, answer questions and complete new hire process
Back Up Clerk/Misc.
Assist residents with questions regarding township related questions.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 per week
