The Cleaning/Personal Assistant is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and performing shopping as well as other errands for the household. This position will work independently, with limited direct supervision. The designated supervisor will assign specific cleaning schedules and special projects.
Requirements:Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning and deep cleaning, sanitization, laundry, and dishwashing in the client’s residence.
- Monitor all areas of the residence, including common areas/rooms for cleanliness, safety hazards and handle safety issues when necessary. Report any deficiencies or safety hazards to management immediately.
- Perform minor errands when necessary, such as grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions at pharmacies, transport dogs to veterinarian for routine appointments.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies are stocked in designated areas.
- Ensure that the supply room is neat and well-stocked with necessary cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Operate a vacuum and floor cleaner to ensure that floors maintain cleanliness.
- Ensure that cleaning equipment is clean and in operable condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- The ability to maintain confidential information of occupants is an absolute must.
- Strong attention to cleanliness.
- Ability to keep the facility thoroughly cleaned, orderly and safe.
- Ability to operate tools or equipment used in routine cleaning.
- Ability to adhere to set schedule of work hours with little direct supervision.
- Ability to interact with staff, clients and visitors while remaining professional, polite and courteous.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous verifiable house cleaning experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, reaching, and stretching required.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, push, pull, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Occasionally may be required to lift more than 50 pounds.
Other Requirements:
- Must pass and maintain background clearance as defined by Oregon State Background Regulations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
