GENERAL DESCRIPTION (SUMMARY, SCOPE, PURPOSE)
The role of the Claims Specialist is to provide administrative support to the Claims Team and successful operation of the Claims Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Evaluating lender claim submissions for required documentation.
· Frequent contact and follow up with clients to obtain missing documentation and providing status on claims inquiries.
· Enter claims submitted by mail, fax, or e-mail into applicable processing systems.
· Verify coverage status with outside insurance carriers.
· Request addition of force placed and/or cancellation of CPI policies from Policy Services.
· Make assignments to appropriate third-party appraisal vendor within 24 hours of reporting of all new claims to identify claim number and ensure adjuster assigned to loss.
· Frequent contact and follow up with third party appraiser vendor to monitor status of appraisal assignments to update relevant parties.
· Evaluating client loan data, premium and appraisal to determine which loss type would be best for lender to file claim.
· Conduct quality control to confirm accurate appraisal reports and submitted documentation.
· Assist with check and mail processing for Claims department when needed.
· Assist in preparation of claim settlements, payments, and payment requests.
· Enter claims data in Focus, Teneo, ImageRight, HFS Direct, and Impact.
· Answer incoming phone calls within specified time frame.
· Under supervision of the Claims Manager, direct communication with clients to advocate clients’ interest in all claim matters
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Experience in auto insurance industry required.
· Intermediate to Advanced Level of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, and Outlook)
· General familiarity with handling high volume of paperwork
· Basic math skills.

· Requires a high school diploma or GED.

· Prior Collateral Protection Insurance claims experience preferred.
· Prior Mortgage and Homeowners Insurance experience preferred.
· Experienced with handling high volume of paperwork.
· Able to take initiative and resolve any issues that may occur during the claims process.
· Excellent customer service, interpersonal, teamwork and organizational, skills.
· Advanced critical thinking skills required.

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
