Civil Rights Field Coordinator-Toledo

Job Duties


The Ohio Civil Service Commission is seeking an experienced professional to perform the following duties:

Civil Rights Field Coordinator

  • Performs duties as a supervisor of two or more Civil Rights Investigators (e.g. delivers assignments to Civil Rights Investigators; reviews and evaluates employees’ work and completes performance evaluations, approves and authorizes leave and initiates corrective action on discipline).
  • Reviews regional policies and recommends changes. Evaluates case dispositions and approves/disapproves completed investigation reports.
  • Serves as regional director in absence of manager & assists regional director in daily operations.
  • Conducts investigations of claims of discrimination as identified under ORC 4112.
  • Compiles and edits correspondence and prepares variety of reports (e.g. case report or charge summary reports, regional case production analysis, monetary benefits report).
  • Attends and/or testifies at hearings on case dispositions.
  • Audits and writes reports for compliance.
  • Evaluates investigations and follows up to ensure that deficiencies or violations are corrected).
Qualifications


Completion of undergraduate core coursework in human resources, business administration, public administration, liberal arts or related field of study; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in investigating allegations of discrimination as identified under Ohio Revised Code 4112; Experience working with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
