What You’ll Do

This position gives you a unique chance to utilize your investigative and equal opportunity consulting skills while working with a compassionate team of professionals.

This position reports to the EEO Manager and provides nondiscrimination and equal opportunity consultation and services for county agencies to include county JFS, PCSEA, CSEA and OMJs, including discrimination complaints; you will investigate and gather necessary information to produce final reports with findings and provide recommendations for action and maintain records.

You will develop Civil Rights training for county entities.

You will conduct compliance reviews for county entities.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Travel: You will travel outside of your headquarter office (Franklin County/Columbus Ohio) as needed.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

OPTION 1:

  • Undergraduate core coursework in personnel management, business or public administration to include coursework in personnel management principles;
  • AND
  • 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in interviewing;
  • AND
  • 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in EEO & affirmative action regulations & procedures;
  • AND
  • 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp in employee training & development.

Option 2:

  • 12 mos. exp. as EEO Officer

Option 3:

  • 30 mos. trg. or 30 mos. exp. in conducting EEO & affirmative investigative & compliance activities

Or

  • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Technical & Professional Skills Utilized: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Analytical and investigative skills. Strong Understanding of federal and state laws for federally funded programs. Extensive knowledge of EEO principles. Strong reading and writing skills including the ability to conduct investigations, intake and interviews with complaints who are experiencing high levels of stress, and to convey compassion and empathy, while remaining neutral. Excellent problem solving and time management skills.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 12. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $29.49 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
