Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Public Works team in our Frisco, TX office. The Civil Engineering Intern should be interested in the design and construction observation for a wide range of public and private infrastructure projects. The Civil Engineering Intern will assist with a broad variety of civil assignments, including residential and commercial site development, municipal design, potable water, sanitary and storm sewer design, roadway design and other civil design for public and private sector clients. Civil Engineering Intern – Public Works Responsibilities:
- Design Civil Engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
- Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works projects
- Perform drafting CAD work
- Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
- Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
Civil Engineering Intern – Public Works Requirements:
- Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
- Great communication skills
- Solid relationship and team building skills
- Self-motivated and strong organization skills
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred
- Experience with Civil 3D is a plus
Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday.
