Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Transportation/Public Works team in our Tyler, TX office. The Civil Engineering Intern will be helping perform Transportation/Public Works design, including TxDOT, city, and county roadway and highway design projects. This Civil Engineering Intern will assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation projects as well as helping with CAD work.
Civil Engineer Intern – Transportation/Public Works Responsibilities:
- Design Civil Engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
- Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation/Public Works projects
- Assist with drafting CAD work
- Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
- Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
Civil Engineer Intern - Transportation/Public Works Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
- Great communication skills
- Solid relationship and team building skills
- Self-motivated and strong organization skills
Interns are paid hourly and would work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday thru Friday.
Half does not pay for or provide housing.
