The Airfield - Civil Engineering Intern will assist the team in the planning and laying out of runways, taxiways, hangars, terminal buildings, parking decks and airport grounds. The intern will have an opportunity to watch the construction work of leveling fields, surfacing runways and drainage systems. The intern will aid in the design and delivery of projects to include planning studies for improvements, redevelopment and expansion of the airport, parking facilities, roadway systems, ground transportation systems, surveillance systems, and zoning problems.
- Aid in the production of engineering drawings and specifications, production of engineering investigations.
- Analyze technical problems and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
- Assist engineers with the design and drafting of preliminary and final plans.
- Maintain organized documentation/archives of design files, drawings, and construction submittals.
- Provide construction assistance and aid the team with Requests for Information (RFI’s) as necessary.

Qualifications- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
- Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and practices.
- Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited college is required. (Junior or Senior Desired)
- Valid Driver's License with a safe driving record.
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder Required (at this time we are not accepting H1B students).
- Hand and eye coordination adequate for computer data entry, operate surveying equipment, calculator, and concrete testing equipment.
- Ability to travel and tour work sites on occasion.
- This position will be a full-time position (40 hours per week).
- The work schedule is Monday through Friday with some night and weekend work as needed.
