Job Description
Established Civil Engineering Firm has an immediate full-time job opening for a Civil CAD Designer with a minimum of 10 years of public works infrastructure designing experience to join our firm at our Houston TX office. The Designer will assist Engineers with plan production and the design of primarily water and wastewater infrastructure projects. In addition, the Designer will be required to research local design standards as well as prepare engineering documents. The position requires the design of water and wastewater facilities including but not limited to pump stations, lift stations, odor control systems, water wells, treatment plants, and piping networks, and will encompass CAD work such as generating plan sets. This position provides an excellent opportunity to keep gaining varied infrastructure design experience and grow professionally in a small firm environment.
Professional
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, required.
- Proficiency with Civil 3D, a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience required in water and wastewater infrastructure design. Drainage and roadway infrastructure projects, a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, required.
- Ability to follow and apply CAD standards.
- Ability to effectively organize, manage & complete tasks and assignments in a schedule sensitive environment.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Under general supervision, develop drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, cut sheets, engineering directives, and other data, according to company and client specifications. Specific responsibilities include:
- Plan production and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Organizing and scheduling work to accomplish goals on projects within established budgets and timelines.
- Effectively coordinating and collaborating with Engineers, Designers, CADD Technicians and sub-consultants.
- Assisting in various aspects of governmental agency review and approval.
- Establishing good communication and collaborative working relationships with other employees & clients.
