The Child and Family Therapist of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home for the Madison Youth Ranch provides in-depth clinical assessment and treatment of children and families. The Child and Family Therapist conducts individual, group, and family therapy sessions, monitors progress on treatment plan goals, and provides general oversight of the implementation of the treatment plan goals.EDUCATIONActive Florida LCSW, LMHC or LMFT is requiredMasters Degree in Human Services or related field from a nationally accredited college or universityExperience working with children with history of complex trauma, mental health, and behavioral disordersQUALIFICATIONSFamiliarity with utilization review process preferredAbility to organize and generate billable Medicaid documentation in a timely mannerMinimum one year experience working in a crisis or child welfare environment (crisis stabilization unit, group care)Be willing and able to work with difficult youth and their familiesBe able to communicate (written and verbal) effectively with all clients, parents, staff, stakeholders, and providersBe computer literate and able to document case information electronicallyHave workable understanding of appropriate theory and methodologyAbility to develop and implement evidenced based treatment goals and interventionsMust be able to work within the philosophy of services to children and families consistent with the ministry and goals of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home (trauma focused model of care)Ability to properly assess and diagnose based upon DSM IV and VSensitivity to the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristicsValid Florida Drivers licenseESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides individual, group, and family therapy to the residents and their familiesDocuments clinical information and billing according to Medicaid and agency standardsCompletes required paperwork upon assignment of new admissionsCompletes discharge summary at dischargeMaintains case recordsMeets productivity standards while maintaining established standard of careAdministers the Childrens Functional Assessment Rating Scale on all children in assigned caseloadAttends psychiatric appointments and other meetings/staffing as required, interacts with case managers, Guardian ad Litems, and other professional staffProvides oversight for behavioral health programming associated with the treatment plan for all children in assigned caseloadProvides training to direct care staff in the particular components of the treatment plan and behavioral management components.* Serve as an on call staff for assigned homeEnsures staff participation in team decisionsArranges home visits for the residentsWorks as the liaison between the Home and the family / caseworker / agencyCoordinates community resources as needed by individual residentsFacilitates treatment plan review/changeover meetingsIs responsive when there is a need for crisis counselingParticipates in the performance and quality improvement processAbility to set appropriate limits and boundaries with clients, families, and staff membersAbility to handle confidential information appropriatelyRegisters child in school and attends all school meetings including IEP or disciplinary meetingsParticipates in DCF staffing and recommending decision making permanency outcome for residentsSupervises / provides therapeutic phone calls / contact with familyOnce certified, facilitate weekly equine therapy sessionsSet up appointments with psychiatristBaker Acts residents as neededCompletes MARS is nurse is unavailableEnsures all significant incident reports sent out to agencyWorks with FUMCH admission team to facilitate MYR admissionsServe as MYR representative on subcommittee(s) as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESReviews and signs off on documentation of any unlicensed therapistIn the absence of the Director of Clinical Services, provides supervision of staff, as directedCERTIFICATES LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSValid Florida Drivers License, Active Florida LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT licenseEqual Employment OpportunityThe Florida United Methodist Children's Home is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
