We are looking for several candidates to join our clinical team of mental health therapists in our school-based programs: Linkages to Learning and Bridge to Wellness. Youth & Family Services is the community-based, comprehensive social services branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington. YFS provides school and community-based prevention and early intervention services to at-risk and under-served youth and families throughout Montgomery County. YFS programs address basic social-service needs, teach fundamental life skills and assist participants in making healthy choices. Services are provided free of charge. We are seeking SEVERAL dynamic self-motivated clinicians to join our mission to promote strong kids, strong families and strong communities in the Linkages to Learning and School and Community-based Youth Services/Bridge to Wellness programs. You will become part of a highly skilled team of professionals making a difference working with youth and families in the community to remove barriers to mental health treatment. About the Job The Child & Family Therapist is responsible for providing therapeutic intervention to individual youth, families and groups. This is a 12-month, school-based position working within Montgomery County Public Schools serving elementary, middle or high school aged youth. Our clinicians work closely with educators, guidance counselors, school social workers and community providers, as well as other YMCA staff, to provide optimal care and treatment for the youth and families. The Child & Family Therapist works within a team of Family Care Managers, Community School Coordinators, Community Service Aides and Youth Development Specialists to provide support and resources to the families in community.The YMCA offers great benefits! Competitive compensation package 10% employer contribution to retirement, plus 403(b) plan available CEUs and group and individual supervision for licensure Regular clinical and team meetings for collaboration and support Professional liability Insurance paid Generous Paid Time Off - holidays, paid time off (vacation and sick and personal), wellness time Medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability, life insurance Employee Assistance Program Referral bonus program Employee discount program Free YMCA full membership for employee and family Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct clinical evaluation, bio-psycho-social assessments, diagnostic impressions/diagnoses and treatment planning Provide individual, family and group counseling Provide crisis intervention as needed to youth Lead or co-lead psycho-educational, developmental and therapy groups (child, teen and parent) Provide classroom observations when indicated Consult with parents, school staff, and medical providers regarding child’s progress Attend school and parent meetings as needed (IEP, 504, EMT/ARD/suspension, etc.) Offer appropriate assistance during crises Support the YMCA cause of strengthening community through participation in Y sponsored events, trainings, and meetings throughout the region Qualifications and Skills: Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy Current Maryland licensure as LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, LCPC, LGMFT, LCMFT or Psych Associate Knowledge of evidence-based models of treatment (CBT, DBT, Child Centered Play Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, etc.) Bilingual (English/Spanish) therapists are encouraged to apply Employment Type: Full Time Bonus/Commission: No
