JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Workforce Services Supervisor, the Child Care Specialist conducts client intake interviews to explain and answer client questions concerning the Child Care program, to gather and obtain information concerning eligibility, to make eligibility determinations, and to explain billing/payment processes. The Child Care Specialist provides other case management activities to include coordinating assistance with other counties, to make client referrals, to document and maintain all client records/actions, and to make ongoing eligibility determinations, as required.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Answers questions of the public, staff and community concerning Child Care services, programs and processes of the County. Screens and assists all clients and requests for information and provides information concerning program specifics and provides eligibility information.
• Performs a variety of caseload management activities and functions for the Child Care program.
• Responds to Employment and Training requests for back-up assistance.
• Maintains and updates employment and training obligation databases.
• Inputs, prepares and generates various participant and financial data required for employment, training or Child Care services.
• Assists with the Summer Youth Programs.
• Responsible for statistical reporting for various departments.
• Maintains agency forms, informational packets, and agency supplies.
• Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED and one year of previous clerical and administrative support experience in human services, Child Care services, or social service programs.

SCORED EXAMINATION PROCESS
