Our Child Care Connections Division seeks an extraordinary candidate for the following position:
Family Child Care Substitute Specialist
Prepare for and manage the day-to-day operational activities of a Family Child Care setting assigned to support as a substitute or second adult caregiver. Understand and support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment. Communicate effectively with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, the Family Child Care educator, and the parents. Build collaborative relationships with area Family Child Care educators, and explore additional shared services supports to save providers’ cost and time.
Depending on your location, this position helps to cover services in Becker, Douglas, Otter Tail, or Pope County.
· 2 years of practical experience working directly with young children
· Knowledge of Minnesota Rule 2 and/or Rule 3 Child Care licensing regulations
· Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
· Ability to work independently, to be resourceful and adaptable, and to work within a flexible schedule
· Must hold a valid driver’s license, current insurance coverage if using own vehicle, and be able to arrange own transportation to meet with clients and conduct business within the service delivery area
· Possess or be pursuing a Child Development Associate (CDA) or college degree (Associates or Bachelors) in Child Development, Early Childhood, Education, Human Services or a related field
· Experience working in a Child Care setting
· Experience with community organizing, community engagement, and/or outreach
· Experience working with people with low incomes
