Position Description
The Financial Supports Specialist position is responsible for providing administrative assistance and supporting the day-to-day activities of the Financial Supports Department. This position reports to the T.E.A.C.H. Manager and works as part of the Financial Supports Team.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Perform bookkeeping duties for the grants and scholarship programs of Child Care Aware of Minnesota.
· Utilize accounting software to manage financial transactions such as e-pay invitations and processing credit card payments.
· Prepare and submit check requests.
· Enter payment information into the database.
· Follow-up on unpaid invoices.
2. Provide administrative support to the grants and scholarship programs.
· Administer surveys, forms, and other information collected from grants and scholarship participants.
· Create, file, and maintain accurate electronic files.
· Operate and organize the grants and scholarships mail processing including receiving and distributing mail.
· Oversee the grants and scholarship application process including organizing applications, entering data, and follow up on incomplete applications.
· Assist with setting up meetings, preparing agendas, and taking and distributing meeting minutes.
3. Assist with the marketing and communications of the grants and scholarship programs.
· Maintain the accuracy of the program manuals and forms.
· Draft newsletter articles and submit content for updates and e-blasts.
· Assist with social media posts and content.
· Answer general questions and inquiries about the Financial Support programs
Qualifications
· An Associate degree or equivalent or one year of related work experience
· Good communication and organizational skills
· Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail
· Experience with word processing software, spreadsheets, and data systems
· Independent worker/comfortable working with staff in remote locations
· Demonstrated intercultural competency skills and experience working cross-culturally, with a commitment to incorporating the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion into work.
Working Conditions
· Part-time – average 25 hours a week depending upon need

Compensation and Benefits – All benefits are prorated for part-time employees
Hourly pay range: $17.65-$22.07, depending on qualifications, plus up to an additional $2,000/year for health expenses (pro-rated for part-time employees).
