The Child Care Advocate and Technical Support Unit within the Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) may be the perfect fit for you.
The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) serves, aids and protects needy and vulnerable children and adults in ways that strengthen and preserve families, encourage personal responsibility and foster independence. The CDSS CCLD is currently accepting applications for an Associate Governmental Program Analysts (AGPA) within the Child Care Advocacy and Technical Support Unit. Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the AGPA will provide information and training to the licensed Child Care community, parents, and the public, and serve as a subject matter expert to the CCLD in carrying out statutorily mandated activities.

Working Conditions
This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation, within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer's markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.
This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Social Services policies.
Use of a computer for several hours a day which may involve sitting most of the time but may include walking or standing for brief periods. Work hours and schedules may vary.

It is the mission of the Community Care Licensing Division to promote the health, safety, and quality of life of each person in community care through the administration of an effective, collaborative regulatory enforcement system.
The Child Care Advocacy and Technical Support Unit works to provide accurate and timely information to licensed Child Care providers, families and the public, as well as training and technical support to promote the greatest levels of health and safety and maximize the enrichment and development of the children in care.

This position is subject to fingerprinting clearance by the Department of Justice.

Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to appointment. Training and Development assignments are temporary in nature and shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview, but they must provide proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
