Hyatt seeks a talented individual to join the Sustainability and ESG Reporting department at the Director level. In this role, you will engage with a wide range of internal functional areas and external experts to drive Hyatts sustainability priorities, data collection, and reporting. This role is instrumental in helping to advance Hyatt World of Care. The Role
Responsibilities include:
- Support the company in advancing Hyatts 2030 environmental sustainability framework. Work with a range of internal functions such as Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Culinary/F&B, Finance, Sales, and other corporate, regional, and hotel colleagues. Analyze performance data, capture results, and help scale best practices. Benchmark other businesses as well as global standards; evaluate expectations of corporate customers, leisure travelers, and investors; ideate with colleagues to ensure new and innovative opportunities can be operationalized; implement pilots and programs.
- Advance Hyatts data tracking system such that Hyatt can meet stakeholder expectations and emerging regulations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring emerging standards, gaining a strong handle on technical criteria and definitions, vendor/software engagement, and collaboration with relevant internal functional areas for proper internal controls and data assurance.
- Prepare Hyatts public reports, and work with the Communications team to ensure Hyatts suite of ESG reporting continues to evolve. Additionally, develop other external communication materials as needed for customers, meeting planners, investors, developers, media, NGOs, etc.
- Maintain internal subject matter expertise on sustainability topics and prepare hotel resources and guidance materials related to specific subjects. Engage with relevant regional teams to understand emerging local-level regulations that impact operations and reporting, and determine where new processes can be scaled.
- Work with Commercial Services teams to address customer and guest sustainability needs.
- Participate in industry working groups.
Experience Required:
- More than ten years of professional experience in related fields
- Demonstrated achievements in program implementation with cross functional stakeholders. Experience in building different types of relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to navigate key principles related to green buildings, Life Cycle Assessment, and other environmental management topics.
- Demonstrated experience in synthesizing and analyzing data, data management using excel and other tools.
- Experience developing communication materials for a broad audience.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as well as to listen and communicate effectively to different groups of audience.
Experience Preferred:
- Bachelors degree in environmental studies or a relate field, Masters degree is a plus
- Working knowledge of the Greenhouse gas Protocol, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and newer international standards. Experience working on multi-stakeholder reports.
- International experience is a plus.
