Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) provides administrative leadership and direction to the Environmental Services, IT, Laundry, Plant Services, Rehabilitation and Diagnostic Imaging departments. The position is responsible for facilitating development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of services within the assigned areas through collaboration with all staff, leadership and other managers. The COO’s success is measured by the achievement of organizational wide goals and adherence to policies, procedures, and standards set forth by state, federal, and hospital regulatory agencies. The COO is responsible for the measurement and assuring the effectiveness of internal and external systems and processes. They will also provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the organization. All duties are performed consistent with BBGH standards and behaviors.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, or other directly related field of study from an accredited college or university, or equivalent, is required, master’s preferred. A completed master’s degree within four (4) years of hire required in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration or Public Health. Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in acute, hospital, or managed health care setting, including experience in facility operations, project management or related responsibilities is required. Must have, or obtain, membership in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE.

Residency Requirement

The new COO will be required to live within the Box Butte General Hospital service area, preferably Alliance.
