The Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization's mission by providing strategic guidance, overseeing critical projects, and ensuring operational excellence. Reporting to the President and Vice President, the Chief of Staff will act as a senior advisor to the organization, a liaison to key stakeholders, and a point of contact for internal and external communications. This position requires a blend of leadership, communication skills, and a deep understanding of the political landscape relating inside Iran, in the diaspora, and across the aisle in Washington, D.C.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution: Assist in developing and implementing strategic plans. Coordinate with various team members including the policy team and the social media team to ensure alignment with the organization's vision and objectives.
Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership and direction to staff. Ensure effective team dynamics, foster a collaborative work environment, and promote professional development.
Policy and Advocacy: Stay informed on policy issues related to Iran and its diaspora. Assist in formulating policy positions and advocacy strategies. Engage with policymakers, stakeholders, and partners.
Project Management: Oversee key projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Monitor progress, address potential issues, and ensure alignment with overall strategy.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between the President, staff, and external partners. Facilitate effective communication and relationship-building.
Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Implement improvements as necessary.
Event Coordination: Assist in organizing events, panels, and discussions. Oversee logistics and ensure events align with NUFDI’s mission.
Fundraising: Support the President, Vice President, and Board of Directors in fundraising efforts
Relationship Development: Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, NGOs, think tanks, policy groups, and other key stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
- Coordinate high-level projects, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
- Facilitate internal communication, promoting a cohesive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, NGOs, policy groups, and other key stakeholders.
- Monitor political and human rights developments in Iran, advising on potential impacts and responses.
- Represent the organization at key events, conferences, and meetings, advocating for human rights and democratic values.
- Represent the organization in the media in both English and Persian, when needed
Skills
- Fluency in Persian (Farsi) and English
- Bachelor's Degree
