GHJ's relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client's needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.Our client, a nonprofit organization in South Bay, Los Angeles, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join their team.Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as an integral member of the management team, the CFO will be responsible for the financial stewardship of the organization. This includes accounting, reporting, planning, and budgeting, payroll, cash and reserve fund management.ResponsibilitiesProvide financial leadership and support to executive management; assists CEO with reports for the Organization's Finance Committee/Board of Directors.Ensure effective fiscal health and financial stewardship of the Organization's resources.Oversee the preparation, review, and integrity of the financial statements.Ensure the accuracy, interpretation and analysis of all financial statements and provide regular reports to senior management.Direct and coordinate all financial planning and budget management.Develop and maintain a robust cash forecasting model to meet the organization's financial and strategic needs.Lead the development of and ensure compliance with appropriate controls, policies, procedures, and governance principles and practices for financial management and administration functions of the organization.Direct the preparation of materials for the annual audit and work closely with outside auditors to ensure accuracy and timeliness in the issuance of the annual audited financial statements, Forms 990 and other necessary regulatory and compliance reports.Responsible for developing the Organization's annual finance department business plan.Oversee asset productivity and utilization including purchasing, leases and contracts and agreements.Identify opportunities for improving and developing the functions of accountingLead, mentor and develop the accounting and human resources teams, ensuring high level performance and engagement across all areas; establish a high-quality infrastructure.Leverage advanced knowledge and skills to succeed Special projectsQualificationsMinimum of 10 years of experience managing multiple functionsCPA preferred, not-for-profit experience a plusOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsEffective and insightful presentation skillsProven technical skills and analytical ability. as neededDemonstrated proficiency using standard office software applicationsThe compensation for this position ranges from $160,000 - $175,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual's qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.#GHJSS
