SUMMARY


Tecstone Granite is growing, and our industry is quickly evolving.  We need an executive leader who can guide the financial systems and institute new processes that empower sound business decisions. We are searching for a high energy, people centric Chief Financial Officer to join our team of high-performing professionals and keep our finances positioned for continued success. 


We need a true financial business partner who is willing to immerse themselves in day-to-day operations to maximize financial outcomes. This person is expected to be integral to multiple aspects of the business and needs to take a process driven approach to drive financial disciplines within the organization.  


Reporting to the President, this individual must possess a strong understanding of the company's business model and industry and be able to use this knowledge to provide an independent perspective and to constructively challenge the commercial and operations teams, ensuring that business decisions are grounded in solid financial criteria.


This seasoned financial partner not only will understand current accounting practices and trends, but also will have experience in implementing new enterprise resource planning solutions, purchasing strategy, maximizing company valuation, mergers and acquisitions and much more.  As a member of senior management, the CFO will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear and effective communication skills.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·         Oversee all aspects of accounting and finance operations, including payables, receivables, payroll and tax preparation, annual audit process

·         Prepare timely and accurate analyses, summaries, and reports of financial data on the operating progress of the company; including cash flow projection and monthly Board reporting packages

·         Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.

·         Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.

·         Improves or replaces enterprise resource planning software requirements to ensure strong financial controls.

·         Develop and oversee the purchasing strategy and manage inventory processes, including ordering, minimum inventory balance and forecasting, to ensure the business can meet demand and minimize excess inventory

·         Own the financial planning process and recommend improvements to current methods.

·         Analyzes operations to identify operational areas in need of expansion, reorganization, downsizing, or elimination to drive financial efficiency.

·         Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives.

·         Studies existing and upcoming economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.

·         Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to keep accurate valuations of existing business and appropriately allocate and plan capital expenditures.

·         Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities (ex: Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, state attorneys general)

·         Increases the talent and bench strength of the finance and purchasing departments. 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in financial leadership positions of increasing responsibility, including team management.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit, and tax compliance.
  • Experience leading an audit process, managing transactions, capital expenditure allocation and supporting fundraising efforts.
  • Experience in launching new enterprise resource planning software.
  • Demonstrated success leading finance for a scale up company, ensuring day to day decisions are made based on accurate data.
  • Experience leading inventory management – developing and managing processes for ordering, accounting, inventory threshold and forecasting, as well as cash management.
  • Comfortable with federal and state tax laws, employment laws, as well as basic accounting issues.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills; organization and prioritization skills.
  • Working knowledge of how to raise capital outside traditional lines of credit.
  • Experience in mergers, acquisitions, and investor relations.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit for long periods of time, minimal lifting required.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates within a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job inside the office, the employee is frequently exposed to normal working conditions.

 

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm

In addition, some weekends or evenings may be needed around critical times of the month or year.


TRAVEL REQUIRED: Rarely, less than 10%.
