JOB DESCRIPTION
Classification: Exempt
Supervised By: CEO
Supervises: Controller, Manager, Coordinator, Program Associate
Job Summary: Manages the financial resources of the organization including accounting, organization-wide budgets in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and organization/contract policies and procedures and safeguards assets through the maintenance of proper controls. Participates as a member of the senior management team in the development and implementation of organization-wide policies and programs that will contribute to it overall success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversees agency financial management.
2. Participates as Financial Committee Member.
3. Oversees fixed assets and maintains records.
4. Formulates and recommends objectives, plans, schedules, policies, procedures and budgets for overall agency administrative and program operations.
5. Establishes policies and procedures regarding computer hardware maintenance, acquisition and usage. Sets standards and ensures consistency for hardware and software usage in the agency.
6. Prepares or coordinates reports to regulatory and other governmental agencies.
7. Creates and oversees business management and growth strategies for the agency.
8. Oversees and establishes Fiscal policies, procedures and personnel.
9. Prepares monthly financial reports and annual budgets.
10. Prepares schedules and information for annual audited financial reports and tax return.
11. Performs other projects and duties as directed by the CEO and Board of Directors.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: BA/BS or higher education in Business, Accounting, or related field or equivalent. Master’s preferred. Knowledge: Experience in non-profit administration and management highly preferred. Experience in coaching and developing team building to create high performance climate. Abilities: Management and leadership skills a must with ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure with multiple deadlines. Skills: Knowledge of MIP software, Must possess cognitive thinking and strong analytical skills. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required. Must have strong computer skills with particular emphasis in the use of accounting software packages. Must be able to use all office equipment.
Physical Demands:
¨ Sitting for long periods of time viewing a computer screen, in meetings or in supervision. Standing and walking frequently.
¨ Occasional driving to meetings with vendors or in the community.
¨ Using hands to operate keyboard and other office equipment.
¨ The noise level fluctuates from quiet to noisy.
¨ Finding meeting space for large groups can be challenging.
