Job Description
We’re searching for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team of high-performing professionals and keep our finances positioned for continued success. The CFO will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position. This seasoned strategist not only will understand current accounting practices and trends but also will have experience raising capital and adapting to change, whether it’s through growth or downsizing. As a member of senior management, the CFO will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear and effective communication skills. The Chief Financial Officer reports to the CEO or their designee.
The Chief Financial Officer will direct and oversee the financial activities of the corporation, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth.
Responsibilities
•Oversee the Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
•Works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.
•Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
•Take responsibility (either directly or via staff) for all project management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy and hiring needs.
•Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
•Ensure flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization.
•Review the planning process and suggest improvements to current methods.
•Analyze operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
•Works with the CEO and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
•Study long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
•Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well as reporting for the same.
•Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
•Oversee investment of funds and work with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.
•Work with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information and ensure contract compliance and reporting.
•Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings calls, the management team, and the rest of the company.
•Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities (ex: Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, state attorneys general).
Qualifications
•Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
•Certified Public Accountant designation required.
•Eight to ten years of experience in financial management is required.
•Professional certification (ex: Certified Public Accountant).
Pay
$220K - $250K Per Year
Schedule
Day Shift | 8:00am – 5:00pm | Monday – Friday
