About This Role

Covered is seeking an experienced, energetic, intellectually curious Finance professional to join our fast-growing business. This is a mission critical role and entrepreneurial opportunity for that ready talent. The Chief Finance Officer has a direct line reporting relationship to the CEO and is a core member of Covered's Executive Committee. The CFO is a valued visionary possessing an eye toward the future, works closely with top leadership and has a voice in strategic business recommendations.

The Finance Officer is a strategic business partner possessing accounting prowess and strategic savvy with a firm grasp of business operations to complement the CEO to manage the business and leverages financial, big data and analytics to drive strategy, profitable growth and inform business decisioning. In partnership with executive leadership, the CFO leads organizational transformation through performance leadership, infusing accountability through the nurture and acquisition of world-class talent and leverages technology as a critical focus of financial, IT and cyber security competence.

The successful talent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This leader holds accountability for closely monitoring the Company?s financial health and plays a crucial role of ensuring the financial integrity, transparency, and sustainability of the organization while providing valuable financial insights and guidance to support strategic decision-making.

About You

• Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA required, MBA preferred
• 12+ years of experience in financial leadership roles
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with financial reporting requirements in both public as well as Private Equity backed enterprises
• Fintech, Insurtech and/or Property and Casualty Insurance industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks Online as well as mid-sized company accounting tools) and Microsoft Office as well as the Google Suite
• Ability to work under pressure, make well informed and impactful decisions under tight deadlines
• High level of integrity and ethical standards
• Immense curiosity and a strong urge to build, fix, improve, and take things to the next level
• Achieve desired company outcomes through leadership and influence across organization
