Job Description
GALT Aerospace is seeking a talented Chief Engineer, Senior Systems Architect to perform Engineering Oversight and Systems Architect functions related to Communication Mission Payload Systems, Development, System I&T, Platform Installation, final Weapon System Ground and Flight Tests, and Air-Worthiness Certifications. At GALT Aerospace, Engineers are responsible for leading collaborative rapid development of complex SWAP-constrained systems for military airborne and ground integrated communication systems for Command-and-Control applications.
The candidate will work closely with other engineering functions in a team environment, including Flight Engineering, Systems Engineering, Product Engineering, Software Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Program Management to meet schedule and technical performance requirements.
The candidate will focus on command and control and Tactical Data Link (TDL) systems. The qualified candidate will work in a rapid integration and testing environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The selected candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks ranging from System and Software requirements support and assessment, System and Software Integration and Test, and Concept/Prototype Development, to include customer site support activities, and demonstration test and evaluation activities. The integration and test tasks involve all aspects of hardware and software integration including the planning and conduct of normal systems test activities at contractor, or customer sites.
Specific tasking include:
- Oversee Tracking of Problem Reports and Requirement Changes into future Design Releases
- Oversee Agile Development of both HW & SW to ensure a Design Cycle Heartbeat
- Systems Architect - Customer Focused Innovation
- Support development of test approach and test requirements
- Perform System Level Analysis on various disciplines to ensure System Performance margins
- Support execution and demonstrations, according to the program schedule
- Drive Solutions to meet Customer Gaps
- Flowing down each function of the architecture to each Engineering group
- Support "Programs" as part of a Weak-Matrix Organization
- Support "BD & Growth" as the Tech Solutions Architect and be the "Technologist" in BD Customer
- Technology Leadership at Chief Engineer Level
- Work with BD to develop IRAD Roadmaps
- Oversee and manage all IRAD Programs
- Oversee CCBs and Engineering Data Management
- Support MRP Systems ... Design outputs all the way through I&T
- Transition to production for ongoing major DoD program of Record (STII)
- Command and Control initiatives
Required Skills, Experience, and Education
- Bachelor's Degree (BS, E.E/B.S) in Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree from an accredited institution
- 15+ years' experience with/in a related Engineering Environments
- S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearance
- CONOPS related to Military Airborne Communications
- Aircraft Integration, ideally in SWaP Confined platforms
- Military Airborne Environments, Avionics, Communications, and Navigation
- Experience with Military Comm Systems, Networks, Waveforms and Radios including: LOS - Link-16, TTNT, BE-CDL, Ku-CDL, ANW2, TSMx, MIMO/MANET Networks, LPI-LPD Chaotic, BLOS - MUOS, DAMA, Starlink, Commercial Ka, WGS, AEHF, IBS etc.
- Basics of RF Systems, Analysis, & Design of Airborne Systems
- Experience with Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) to include all aspects of the System Engineering Process / Tools
- Lead multi-Discipline Engineering Teams
- Understanding of broad Engineering Disciplines to include:
- Electrical and Power, Mechanical, RF Systems - RFE, Antennas, Modeling, & Analysis
- Flight Sciences, Software, Sim/Stim, AC GND & Flt Test, and Airworthiness Certifications
- Agile Systems & SW Development
- Understand all phases of SW Development, Process, Config-Control, tools, etc.
- Understand Algorithms and MATLAB / SimuLink modeling, and auto code generation capabilities
- Familiar with MBSE, Behavioral Models, and Digital Engineering concepts, tools, etc.
- Understanding of Military Electronics Standards
- Relationship based Team Player with all GALT Employees, Customers, and Suppliers including Customer Development and Retainment Model
- Extensive Experience with Government Contracts and Managing Subcontracts
- Large Network (Contact List) of key folks in the industry
- Reputation and Ability to attract talented engineers into GALT Aerospace
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education
- Master's degree in STEM related discipline
- TS/SCI Eligible
- Program management experience
- Integration of various Military radios on an airborne platform
- Familiar with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, DO-160, MIL-HDBK-516
Physical Requirements

Pay Scale
At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $180,000-$210,000, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
