Job description
- Review and prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), and corporations (1120 and 1120S) income tax returns to satisfy compliance requirements and support effective business/tax planning.
- Developing tax strategies to assist clients in being tax-compliant
- Perform budget and cash flow projections.
- Monitoring developments in tax legislation, Informing management and staff of developments in tax legislation
- Supervising, training, and mentoring Tax preparer staff
- Identifying tax problems and developing solutions
- Use applicable federal, state, and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return
- Complete and file tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state, and local government entities
- Build customer relationships to promote and expand the business
- Previous experience in Public Accountant Firm preferred (7 years plus)
- 2+ years of management/supervisory experience required
- Proven track record of exceptional client service and business development
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Strong technical expertise in their practice area

- An interest in mentoring and developing junior staff
- A willingness to invest in the firm’s future through a buy-in process
- Experience with major tax preparation software (Lacerte, Office Tools, SmartVault, Excel, QuickBooks, Sharefile experience)
- Current California CPA License or Master's Degree in Tax
- Proficient in Lacerte Tax Preparation and QuickBooks Software
- Up to $250K plus bonuses + relocation package (if necessary)
