Summary: The Billing Specialist is responsible for a submitting claim daily, working on unpaid claims, timely and accurately. The Billing Specialist provides ongoing follow-up on open balances to ensure payment is received promptly. The Billing Specialist also works on claims requiring correction and resubmission. This position also researches unpaid claims, using various methods (i.e. phone calls, web portals, etc.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proper communication and documentation of issues found while completing claim follow-up
- Identify billing issues and communication to appropriate staff members to ensure clean future claims
- Maintain daily productivity levels, as outlined by management
- Conduct regular reviews of unpaid claims patterns and make recommendations to improve operational efficiency and reduce the occurrence of denials.
- Assist with a variety of projects and perform other duties as assigned
Key Competencies:
- Proven work experience as a Medical Biller or similar role
- Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records and EOBs
- Must have the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding problem-solving and organizational skills
Hours are flexible but you will be required to attend meetings.
