Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant in our rural health clinic, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care. Collaborating with healthcare professionals, you will perform various clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. Your strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for our patients and enable you to provide compassionate and efficient healthcare services.
Responsibilities:
Assist healthcare providers in conducting patient examinations and preparing examination rooms.
Record patients' medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately and efficiently under the supervision of the provider.
Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
Assist the provider with patient education by providing information about medications, procedures, and follow-up care.
Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and manage patient records in an electronic medical records (EMR) system.
Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, verifying insurance information, and maintaining office supplies.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate seamless patient flow and efficient clinic operations.
Stay up to date with medical procedures, regulations, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications:
Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a rural healthcare setting.
Proficient in performing basic clinical procedures and utilizing medical equipment.
Knowledge of medical terminology, patient assessment techniques, and medication administration.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and healthcare professionals.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in both clinical and administrative tasks.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer proficiency.
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
