SAIC is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support a project located at Point Mugu, CA.
Job responsibilities include:
- Research, design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use.
- Analyze subsystems for applicability to O-level test program sets (TPS), listing and verifying lab test parameters on the AN/USM-406A. Collected data and test program verification during development.
- Work with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Must have extensive experience in digital Systems Engineering projects.
- Research different high-level technical approaches to meet requirements.
- Perform a formal Decision Analysis and Resolution (DAR) with evaluation criteria and weights to determine the best cost-effective and maintainable solutions (e.g., commercial off-the-shelf [COTS] versus non-developmental item [NDI] design tradeoffs, engineering Analysis of Alternative [AoA], make/buy recommendation).
- Perform experimental validation or prototyping as required and submit technical data package and prototype to the AEA IPT Product Lead.
- Conduct verification/validation of the developed system that meets the technical adequacy and meets the documented system requirements.
- Select product component solutions, analyzing alternative solutions and selection criteria.
- Design system and subsystem interfaces comparing requirements to existing Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs)/Interface Design Documents (IDDs).
- Design the product or product component and perform make, buy, or reuse analysis.
- Implement the design after completing design reviews with the customer and relevant stakeholders and manage iterative changes with the Change Review Board.
- Update product support documentation, including user guides, technical manuals, training guides, and ICDs/IDDs as required.
- Prepare for integration by developing integration rationale and sequences.
- Present procedures for review and approval by the AEA IPT and relevant stakeholders.
- Develop, integrate, and install systems and components.
Qualifications
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related technical discipline and five (5) years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Required skills:
- Outstanding interpersonal and management consulting service skills, including the ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work with senior officials, to build and sustain professional networks in a diverse, fast-paced, multi-task environment, and to manage competing priorities.
- Can demonstrate the use of a minimum set of engineering set tests, oscilloscopes, analyzers.
- Understanding of data design and architecture
Required clearance:
- Must have an active Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated system engineering and integration best-practices - identifying, analyzing, defining, and coordinating user, customer, and stakeholder needs and translating them into technical or operational requirements for the research, development, production, and/or procurement of processes, systems, and/or services.
- Familiar with supporting big data implementation.
Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
