We are seeking a dedicated Certified Billing Coder and Accounts Receivable Specialist for our Billing Center. In this position, you will be responsible for the completion of special projects as assigned by the Finance Coordinator, working directly with the team to ensure all projects are handled effectively and efficiently.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review medical record documentation for accuracy and to identify proper CPT, diagnosis and modifiers to be billed.
• Ensure that all phases of the medical billing process are completed accurately and in a timely manner meeting the organizations deadline
• Correct clearinghouse and insurance rejected claims daily
• Complete chart audits to ensure billing accuracy and that charges are not missed
• Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance payer
• Contact physicians as needed to clarify documentation to ensure coding and billing accuracy
• Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided by reviewing fee schedules vs how the claims processed by insurance payer
• Work insurance denials via the appropriate appeals process by each insurance payer
• Payment posting from insurance payers and patients
• Accounts receivable follow-up
• Handle confidential information and abide by HIPAA laws and other medical policies
• Stay current on all coding guidelines and maintain CPC certification
• Complete other duties as assigned

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic math
• 2 years' of medical billing and coding experience
• Strong organizational skills
• eCW experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
