THIS IS A DUAL ROLE/TWO-TIERED POSITION: CDL DRIVER and INTAKE SPECIALIST
Purpose of CDL Driver Role:
Project Vision’s Mobile Health and Human Services Driver is responsible for the safe driving of the mobile health and human services unit, cleaning, maintaining and reporting repair needs of vehicle. The successful candidate with act as a substitute driver for the Hiehie Mobile Hygiene unit. Under the general direction of the Fleet Manager, transports mobile equipment and supplies to partner sites. The driver will create and maintaining ongoing contact with vendors for the maintenance of the vehicle. Assists with guests of all ages.
Primary CDL Role Responsibilities:
- Drives mobile health and human services unit (and/or mobile hygiene unit) to and from events in accordance with DOT rules and regulations and standard operation procedures.
- Maintain awareness of potential risk to participants, staff, and facility while event is in session.
- Follows preventative routine maintenance guidelines and ensure proper maintenance of all equipment.
- Works with vendors and members of staff, as appropriate, to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical failures.
- Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the mobile unit.
- Replenishes stock of cleaning supplies to mobile unit.
- Ensures vehicle and, where applicable, the generators are appropriately fueled for each event.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Screening Event Responsibilities:
- At each location, sets up and tears down equipment, in accordance with P&P and/or manufacturers guidelines.
- Prepares event area with appropriate supplies prior to event.
- Replaces and secures appropriate supplies at the conclusion of event.
- Reports equipment and supplies that need to be ordered to local Community Health Worker
- Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Cooperates with Fleet Manager, Nurse, Community Health Worker, and other healthcare personnel while complying with all facility policies and procedures.
- Complies with all safety policies and regulations, including DOT as applicable.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
General Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintains daily log of vehicle mileage and generator hours.
- Completes driver vehicle evaluation weekly.
- Maintains log of routine inspections of vehicle: daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Reports any unusual events to Fleet Manager immediately.
- Ensure timesheet is complete by close of business daily
- Ensure any check requests are sent to the Bookkeeper, with a cc to the Executive Director and Accounting Assistant.
- Must attend mobile driver conference calls once a month.
- Must attend "All Hands" conferences once a month
Purpose of Intake Role:
Project Vision’s Mobile Health and Human Services Intake Specialist is responsible for the registering patients, scheduling patients for appointments, checking patients in, and checking patients out of the EHR system. The successful candidate will assist nurses with greeting patients, and possibly providing near and distance vision screening. The intake specialist is friendly and assists with guests of all ages.
Primary Intake Specialist Role Responsibilities:
- Greets participants and assists with filling out forms as appropriate with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
- Maintains participants care, comfort and safety.
- Under the guidance of the Nurse or Community Health Worker performs health and human services for participants as appropriate with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
- Cooperates with Fleet Manager, Nurse, Community Health Worker, and other healthcare personnel while complying with all facility policies and procedures.
- Complies with all safety policies and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
General Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintains daily log of global event data.
- Reports any unusual events to Safety Manager immediately.
- Ensure timesheet is complete by close of business daily
- Ensure any check requests are sent to the Bookkeeper, with a cc to the Executive Director and Accounting Assistant.
- Must attend "All Hands" conference calls once a month.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed in a mobile screening unit with frequent trips to site locations during all seasons.
- Exposure to inclement weather from setting up and breaking down equipment and vehicle.
- Mobile unit has artificial lighting, with some daylight from windows or doors.
- Possible exposure to agitated participants, regardless of age.
Education, Certifications and Licenses:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's license with good driving record.
- Must pass DOT physical and Drug/Alcohol Screening.
- Must possess an AED/CPR and First Aid certification
Specific Requirements:
- Minimum of one year of tractor/trailer experience preferred or must have graduated from an acceptable truck driving training program.
- Must be able to understand and comply with applicable DOT rules and regulations.
- Able to demonstrate competency, in all applicable areas.
- Capable of a flexible work schedule, with a possibility of 10+ hour days, may include overnight, weekend and holiday shifts.
- Must be comfortable with Microsoft 365 (including Outlook, Word, and Forms).
- Must be proficient with a computer to do data entry into EHR.
- Must be able to interact with personnel and partner team members in a responsible, professional and ethical manner.
- Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
- Responsible for the following and adhering to Quality Standards which includes, but is not limited to: CPR & AED certified, training, and infection control.
Current Schedule: Tues: 5 am - 4pm; Wed: 5:30 am - 12:30 am; Sat: 5:30 am - 12:30 am. Other events may be scheduled depending on internal and external programs.
PAY RATE:
- CDL Driver: $22 - $27 an hour DOE
- Intake Specialist: $17 - $22 an hour DOE/Education
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $27.00 per hour
