Catering & Banquet Server/Bartender

Successful service results from confidence, which can only be developed through knowledge. We will provide you with ample material to develop the necessary knowledge and confidence in relation to service techniques.

The Dante Event Center is looking for a few enthusiastic Banquet Servers who are willing to cross train into our Bar Service Department to add to our team! If you love to pour a good drink, make conversations and enjoy your job, take a look and see if you think you would be a good fit!

Guests: Guests are always the most important person in the room. Guest needs must always be addressed in a prompt and pleasant manor.

Banquet Server Responsibilities:

-Reports to Banquet Captain
-Prepares room for dining by setting up tables, linens, condiments, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
-Protects establishment and patron by adhering to sanitation and safety.
-Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process.
-Keep in communication with kitchen, to ensure a smooth service.
-Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water' being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
-Bathrooms must be checked every hour during service. Bathrooms must be cleaned and fully stocks before and after service.
-Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
-If you get behind, ask for assistance. You'll never get in trouble for asking.

Bartender Requirements and Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year/s of experience working as a bartender in a bar or restaurant equivalent
• Legally able to serve alcohol
• ABC Serving Certified or equivalent
• Willing and available to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
• Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance
• Basic math skills
• POS or register experience, efficient in cash handling
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong task and time management abilities
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and stay cool under pressure
• Proven track record of providing excellent customer service
• Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift; able to lift and carry 50 or more pounds of supplies
• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques, proficient in Mixology techniques and recipes
• Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.

Bartender Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register and Clover
• Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, washing glasses, utensils, and equipment
• Helping maintain cleanliness of the bar area, bathrooms and service area
• Planning drink menus and informing guests about new beverages and specials
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to guests
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
• Checking identification to ensure guests are legal drinking age to purchase alcohol
• Taking inventory and informing management of supplies that need to be ordered to ensure bar is well-stocked
• Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations

A successful bartender must be fully knowledgeable of all beer, wine and spirits offered. You are expected to attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking. Guest service is of the utmost importance. We take pride in our guests and the service we provide. Bartenders must be able to build a positive rapport with our guests.

Requirements:

-Working knowledge of sanitation and have an up to date food handler certification card.
-Keeping excellent personal hygiene, with appropriate uniform, non-slip shoes, no jewelry except plain wedding bands.
-Uniform includes: Black Pants, Black Long Sleeved Button-up Shirt, Black socks, and Black non-slip shoes, Black Tie or Bowtie, black face mask(provided by company).
-Personal Hygiene: Hair on top of the head shall be neatly groomed. Long hair shall be worn up and neatly and securely pinned. Short hair may be combed over the ears; length can be no longer than the bottom of the ear on the side and top of the shirt at the back of the neck.
-General Math Skills, Verbal Communication, Customer Service, Resolving Conflict, Team Work, Persistence, Energy Level, Selling to Customer Needs, Thoroughness, Professionalism.
-Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds.
-Comfortable bending, climbing, reaching, stooping and moving quickly.
-Flexibility and availability to work mornings, nights, and holidays if needed.
-Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
-Familiar with industry's practices.
-Must be able to speak/write in English.
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds of weight.

Employees hired will go through a 90-day probationary period. At the end of this probation period, the employee will be issued a $200 sign on bonus.
