Catering Event Staff
Summary: Event Staff helps with cleaning, organization, inventory, service, and hospitality. Daily tasks involve being attentive to guests and customer needs, communicating with a team, food preparation, food service, organizing, ensuring all supplies are obtained, and helping set-up, maintain, and breakdown events. Handling guest and customer needs while keeping a professional, and hospitable demeanor is important.
Responsibilities:
- Performing basic food preparation tasks, which include washing, peeling, and cutting fruit and vegetables, seasoning, and slicing meats, and preparing sauces and salads.
- Setting up dining and buffet areas as per the catering manager's instructions.
- Ensuring all tableware and chafing dishes are properly cleaned and sanitized before each catering event.
- Loading and unloading food, tableware, and catering supplies onto and off catering vehicles.
- Appropriately storing clean chafing dishes, tableware, platters, and equipment after each catering event.
- Answering guests' catering-related questions during events and addressing all complaints.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote catering services.
- Assisting in all other duties related to position.
- Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Prior work history in catering, food preparation, food service, and customer service, or a mixture of listed experience.
- Event Staff needs to be knowledgeable or able to learn current food health and safety regulations.
- The catering assistant should be reliable, work well in fast-paced environments, organized, efficient, and have strong communication skills.
- The ability to respond to difficult problems effectively and with a calm demeanor to resolve hospitality issues for events.
- Good standard of personal hygiene
- Must be able to lift 50lbs, push 200lbd cart, bend, climb stairs, stand, and walk for entire scheduled shift.
