Job description

The Category and Customer Insights Analyst will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive informed marketing strategies. This position requires a strong foundation in data modeling, dashboard and report development coupled with market and customer behavior analysis. The Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights derived from market share analysis, consumer behavior trends, and promotional effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data Modeling and Transformation: Develop and maintain robust data models for marketing analysis, ensuring data accuracy and relevance. Transform raw data into actionable insights to support marketing strategies.
  • Dashboard and Report Development: Create visually compelling and intuitive dashboards and reports to track key performance metrics and marketing initiatives.
  • Data Visualization: Utilize advanced visualization techniques to present complex data in an easily understandable format for stakeholders.
  • Market Share Analysis: Conduct thorough market share analysis to identify growth opportunities and assess market positioning.
  • Consumer Behavior Insights: Analyze consumer behavior data to provide insights into customer preferences, buying patterns, and trends.
  • Promotional Analysis: Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing promotions and campaigns, providing recommendations for optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, category management, marketing, and IT teams to align data-driven insights with business objectives.
  • Tool Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in Power BI, DAX, SQL, Excel, and other relevant data analytics tools.
  • Syndicated Data and Category Management: Leverage syndicated data sources and apply category management principles to enhance marketing strategies.
  • Insight Identification: Proactively identify actionable insights from data analysis, contributing to data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to be on-site as needed at the Serv-U-Success and Meijer Corporate Offices.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, IT, Database Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Business Analytics and Reporting.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Excel.
  • Experience with syndicated data, retail, and category management preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Prior experience using Customer Insight data (Dunnhumby, Nielsen, etc) preferred.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Results-oriented. Organized & methodical. Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task under pressure.
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment, with respect for all team members.
