Nicollet County is currently accepting applications for the position of a Case Manager - Children's Mental Healthfor the Health and Human Services Department.
A Case Manager in Children's Mental Health serves the people of Nicollet County by providing services that help children and families access the care they need to live safe and healthy lives. This position will provide Mental Health case management services, promote the safety and well-being of children while they are receiving services, provide preventative services to children with Mental Health needs, and help families attain necessary resources. This position will also provide other child welfare services as assigned.

Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
DUTYFREQUENCYBAND/GRADEProvides assessment and ongoing Children's Mental Health Case Management Services to children eligible for case management and their families. Facilitates a wraparound process to empower families in setting and achieving goals. Assists families to access services needed to allow children to continue to live at home and manage their Mental Health symptoms in the community.

60%C4Completes assessments, receive referrals for services and determine service eligibility and need.

As neededC4Promotes safety, permanency and well-being of our children while they are receiving services from us by providing counseling to families and individuals, providing preventative services to children with Mental Health needs and helping families attain necessary resources.

15%C4Prepares information and recommendations in connection with court cases and proceedings. Testifies in court proceedings, interprets, and implements judicial findings and court orders.
As neededC4Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication with clients, the public, and staff. Maintains good working relationships with clients and the public. Utilizes effective strategies to assist clients with limited English proficiency.

C4Maintains accounting of time using Social Services Information System (SSIS) and other administrative tasks, including staff meetings, staff training and clinical supervision.

5%C4Maintains case records that meet federal, state and local guidelines. Develops and implements case plans with the child/families that work towards that child's specific case needs.

Minimum qualifications & Requirements
In order to be considered for this position, we require a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences (such as social work, psychology, or nursing). At least 2,000 hours of experience delivering Mental Health services to children is preferred.
