Job Summary and Qualifications

The Case Management Assistant (CMA) will be responsible for assisting in maintaining smooth, efficient operations of the department. The CMA will: perform a variety of clerical tasks, assess and prioritize duties and work flow to assure smooth operation of department, act as a resource for the Managed Care Nurse Reviewers regarding plans, policies and procedures while demonstrating a working knowledge of specific issues related to the operation of the department. The CMA must be able to make sound judgements in assessing incoming information and relaying priority information to designated Case Manager.

• Demonstrates awareness of and respect for patient/family/SO needs in relation to confidentiality, privacy, security, complaint resolution and spiritual and cultural needs.
• Interacts consistently in a professional, compassionate manner with patients, families, physicians and colleagues.
• Reviews daily census report including note entries to ensure pre-certification and authorization was obtained within the contractual guidelines.
• Inputs authorization numbers in financial notes when obtained.
• Generate KePro daily status report.
• Cross reference previous day reviews and enter authorization in financial notes.
• Order supplies via Medibuy, Smart and Eway systems as needed.
• Generates graphs, flow charts and other presentation aides.
• Updates calendars of all meetings, events, etc.
• Assists with receiving customer complaints/compliments and routing them to appropriate personnel.
• Demonstrates skill and knowledge base of all routine and specialized equipment used in the performance of duties.
• Maintains confidentiality, security and integrity of patient and organizational data.
• Prepares materials for all designated meetings, including preparing agendas, scheduling meeting rooms, sending out notices, calling members as requested to confirm attendance. Performs monthly audits for departmental PI and analyzes data.
• Completes and maintains in-house denial log.
• Assists Physician Advisor by pulling charts, collating information, maintaining correspondence and calendar and provides, technical support.
• Monitors and responds to requests on Webtool for Case Management.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• One year of secretarial experience in the medical field preferred
