Carrier Relationship Manager, (Freight Invoicing Claims Resolution)
ConData is the market leader in Freight Payables Post-Audit. Hundreds of types of payment, rating, and contractual errors occur in the normal course of paying freight bills for shippers doing business both domestically and around the globe across all modes of transportation. By outsourcing a post-payment audit to ConData large shippers can identify and recover millions of dollars of over payments to reduce shipping costs.
The Relationship Manager role is a professional position and part of the Carrier Relations team. Our clients and ConData rely on the Relationship Managers to recover invoicing claims identified in the audit process. In this role, Relationship Managers will work directly with global carriers to build important relationships that help our clients recover overcharges and overpayments in a timely manner. The importance of the Carrier Relations team is vital as our efforts will change the course of claims resolution. ConData Relationship Managers are critical in getting overpayment claims settled quickly. To be successful in the role, Relationship Managers should be skilled at building relationships and problem solving.

Successful Relationship managers excel at “reading the system” and understand the interplay between how to make the right people connections and resolve outstanding issues across an assigned carrier base to achieve their business goals. As such, Relationship Managers can earn bonus compensation tied to their successful resolution of invoicing claims and contribute greatly to the success of ConData and our clients.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain win-win relationships with national and global transportation companies to recover overpayments made by our mutual clients
- Independently manage a pipeline of invoicing claims by establishing weekly and monthly work strategies and priorities, deadlines, and activity plans to meet and exceed goals
- Provide weekly forecasts for monthly and quarterly settlements and goal achievement
- Act as main point of contact for carrier invoicing claim questions.
- Research carriers’ contacts, processes, systems and business priorities to implement recovery techniques for effective and rapid claims resolution
- Monitor and maintain assigned carrier accounts through customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write off, settlement reconciliations, and processing credit memos
- Ensure timely, thorough and accurate data updates on carrier communications and collections efforts
- Generate reminders and collection follow ups as needed and contact carriers about their unpaid balances to request payments due
- Work directly with teammates, other departments, and leadership on projects and processes as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Two years of experience in freight and transportation roles that require relationship management skills and a working knowledge of logistics contracts and pricing required, preferably across multiple modes of transport. Candidates with recent experience or currently with Freight Carriers, Third Party Logistics Providers, Transportation Factoring, or Freight Audit and Payment Companies are preferred.
- Demonstrated B2B relationship management skills including establishing new contacts and furthering the business relationship with assigned Carriers
- Strong process orientation
- Effective prioritization of tasks, time management and attention to detail
- Persuasive, assertive communication style to achieve win-win outcomes
- Concise and professional written communications (commonly email) and articulate verbal communications.
- Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned goals
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (required) and Jira Service Management software or similar (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time Hybrid Office/ Remote
Base Salary: $55,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year based on experience
This role is eligible for bonus incentives
