Base Salary: $81,000 Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide leadership, coordination, and instructional alignment for the District's Career and Technical Education programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree
Valid Texas Teaching Certification in a CTE area
Texas Administrator Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of curriculum design and implementation, assessment, and technology
Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to develop and facilitate adult learning experiences
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Extensive content knowledge in the area of Career and Technical Education
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Ability to coordinate district functions
Experience:
Minimum three years of CTE teaching
Campus leadership experience preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Responsibilities:
Develop, strengthen, and coordinate CTE instructional programming within Frisco ISD.
Coordinate District CTE Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to ensure aligned instructional programs across the District (horizontally and vertically).
Assist campus administration with curriculum supervision of CTE programs.
Oversee District CTE scheduling.
Meet with campus Department Chairs regarding CTE curriculum implementation.
Ensure the inclusion of special populations within the CTE courses.
Collaborate with postsecondary education to develop and implement Dual Credit programming within the CTE curriculum.
Coordinate and implement the development, evaluation, and revision of CTE curriculum documents and materials (Pathways/Programs of Study/TEKS/Endorsements).
Analyze state and District assessment data in order to improve student achievement.
Oversee development and implementation of innovative CTE instructional programs.
Oversee and support campus administration and teachers to ensure students have access to quality CTE facilities, equipment, and instructional materials.
Communication Expectations:
Demonstrate skill in conflict resolution with administrators, parents, teachers, staff, and community members.
Employ excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate skills in instructional coaching.
Commit to work interdependently with District and campus staff and share responsibility for the learning of all Frisco ISD students.
Maintain deep collaborative partnerships with District and campus staff.
Serve as liaison with appropriate state and national organizations and network with area districts in order to collaborate and share best practices.
Professional Learning Expectations:
Coordinate CTE Advisory Committee Meetings (minimum of two per year).
Maintain a current knowledge base of Career and Technical Education latest trends, developments, and research including labor market and economic development trends.
Implement an ongoing, systematic, results-based staff development/professional learning program that is based on District and campus data, aligned with District and campus goals, and which provides for the needs of individual staff members.
Facilitate professional learning for teachers and administrators.
Disseminate information regarding current research, best practice, and significant developments in state and national policy.
Maintain currency in CTE methodology and best teaching practices through research and attendance at professional development activities and professional meetings.
Take the initiative to develop skills appropriate to job assignments.
Other Expectations:
Ensure local and state guidelines and procedures for CTE programs are followed.
Manage and administer the Carl Perkins Federal Grant application and spending.
Coordinate planning and funding for Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) state and national competitions.
Manage procurement and inventory of CTE equipment and materials across District.
Ensure District agriculture barn guidelines and procedures are followed including the oversight of teacher sponsorship of species.
Coordinate PEIMS coding for District CTE students.
Assist with recruitment of highly qualified CTE teachers.
Collaborate with Human Resources to manage CTE teacher extra days and stipends.
Implement and monitor applicable CTE policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education Rules, and local board policy.
Follow all rules, regulations, and polices of Frisco ISD.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:

Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Frequent district and/or statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours
