Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with advanced knowledge and training in the assessment of patients and advanced skills in the performance of all respiratory therapy and critical respiratory care procedures and diagnostic testing within the scope of the cardiopulmonary department. Provides support for the department director and supervises department staff and operations.
Required Education:High school diploma/GED.
Preferred Education:Graduate of an approved school for Respiratory Therapy and licensed as an RCP in the state of Texas.
Required Technical Skills:Extensive training and experience in patient assessment and performing all respiratory therapeutic, critical care and diagnostic procedures including blood gas lab procedures, EKG's, EEG's, bronchoscopies, cardiac stress testing and pulmonary function testing.
Preferred Technical Skills:Advanced training and at least 5 years of extensive experience in patient assessments and in performing all respiratory therapeutic, critical care, diagnostic procedures including blood gas lab procedures, EKG's, EEG's, bronchoscopies, cardiac stress testing and pulmonary function testing.
Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) AS Degree
Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification:Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) AS or BS Degree
Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
Required Experience:At least 2 years as a Shift Leader, Lead Therapist or clinical Supervisor of Respiratory Therapy Department. At least 10 years of experience in patient assessment and performance of clinical respiratory therapy procedures, critical care procedures and ventilator management, diagnostic testing including blood gas laboratory procedures, EKG's, EEG's, and pulmonary function testing.
Preferred Experience:At least 10 years as a Clinical Supervisor or Assistant Director of a Cardiopulmonary Department. Extensive experience in patient assessment and performance of clinical respiratory therapy procedures, critical care procedures and ventilator management and advanced diagnostic testing including blood gas laboratory management, EKG's, EEG's, cardiac stress testing, bronchoscopies, and pulmonary function testing.
