We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Indoor Cultivation Technician to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards of crop production.
Position: Indoor Cultivation Technician
Location: Battle Creek, MI
Reports To: Indoor Cultivation Manager
Position Summary:The Indoor Cultivation Technician will be responsible for daily plant care tasks, ensuring optimal plant health and yield. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a genuine interest in horticulture, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Care & Maintenance:
- Monitor plants daily for signs of pests, diseases, or other abnormalities
- Maintain a clean and organized cultivation environment
- Assist the lead cultivator in evaluating grow media moisture levels
- Assist in preparing rooms for transplant
- Assist in any laborous tasks required to maintian consistency within the growing rooms
- Work side by side with the lead cultivator to make any alterations or adjustments as needed to provide plants with the most optimal environment for healthy growth.
Data Collection & Reporting:
- Track plant growth, and any issues throughout the cultivation cycle.
- Use cultivation software to record daily tasks and monitor plant progress.
- Report any concerns or abnormalities to the Indoor Cultivation Manager.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Operate cultivation machinery and equipment as required.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality, reporting any malfunctions.
Harvesting:
- Assist with harvesting, trimming, and post-harvest processing.
- Ensure all products meet company quality standards.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all company protocols, state regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Report all non compliance immediatly to the lead cultivator or Facility Operator
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; further education in horticulture or botany is a plus.
- Previous experience in indoor cultivation or horticulture is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of plant physiology and cultivation techniques.
- Ability to lift up to [specific weight, e.g., "50 lbs"], stand for extended periods, and perform physical labor tasks.
- Must pass a background check conducted through the Michigan State Police database.
- Caregivers, if interested, must revoke their caregiver status to be employed per state law.
