Job Summary:
As an Assistant Controller, you will develop and lead a high-performance accounting team that places value on teamwork and growth. You'll play a crucial role alongside our Controller and Director of Accounting to ensure the organization's Accounting function is top-notched. You will be responsible for the management of the clients' monthly close and reporting requirements and accurate completion of the day-to-day functions of the Accounting team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of senior accountants responsible for completion of accounting-control activities such as account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close and financial reporting. Ensure all accounting responsibilities are completed timely, accurate, and in accordance with corporate policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Lead, prepare and review financial reports and deliverables.
- Act as one of the primary liaisons for external auditors.
- Work with external tax preparers to ensure federal, state and local tax compliance is being met for our clients.
- Be the system matter expert for our Accounting ERP System (Oracle) as well as our financial reporting system (Vena).
- Manage the client Chart of Accounts (COA).
- Oversee and maintain the internal policies and controls.
- Assist in any ad-hoc requests from management or other departments.
- Ensure proper revenue and expenditures are recorded in the appropriate division/company, or allocated appropriately and recorded in the proper period.
- Actively participate within the organization to ensure all timberland management investment services meet or exceed client commitments.
- Represent Campbell Global at all levels while maintaining positive public relations
Required Qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in public and/or private accounting.
- At least one year of supervisory experience including direction supervision, coaching and mentoring.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and GAAP
- Advanced communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and respond to various stakeholders needs
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel and Accounting software skills
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Preferred Qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- CPA certification or equivalent preferred.
