The Opportunity
As the Campaign Manager for Danny Sauter for District 3 Supervisor, you’ll be leading the campaign for one of the most important and most competitive races in San Francisco. The campaign will seek to reach voters in new and creative ways while uniting neighbors behind a vision for a better San Francisco with safer neighborhoods, cleaner streets, and abundant and affordable housing. Danny earned 44% of the vote in this same contest in 2020 against a 20-year incumbent, and has the foundation set to win in 2024 with your campaign leadership.
The Responsibilities
As the Campaign Manager, you’ll need to simultaneously be in the weeds fixing things while also making sure our organization is on track to meet its most important goals of reaching voters across the district and winning in November 2024. Specifically, you will be expected to:
- Coordinate our volunteer efforts, turning interested individuals into teams of organizers
- Fostering relationships with endorsers, organizations, and elected officials
- Building relationships with press, both for earned media and for paid media
- Understanding our voter outreach strategy on a precinct-by-precinct basis and assembling resources accordingly
The Skills
Direct experience with political campaigns is desired, but we also understand that other advocacy or organizing work can translate well into this field.
The following will be weighed, but they are not explicit requirements:
- Written and verbal skills than carry our message with energy and clarity
- Comfortable with analyzing large sets of data and extracting actionable insights
- Experience utilizing modern-day campaign tools, including voter outreach software
- Track-record of managing individuals or coordinating volunteers
- Top-notch organization and prioritization skills
- Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese
Start Date
The start date for the role is early 2024. We want this to be an opportunity that is as inclusive as possible to those who are transitioning careers or working multiple roles, so we are flexible as to including a ramp-up period in hours and scope of work from February and March but it is expected to be full-time after that until the election in November 2024.
