Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced candidate who understand Camera Test basics, including camera module components, image quality, sensor settings, image processing, lighting etc. The role will need the candidate is able to propose test metrics and test ideas, build and improve test setup, develop and implement algorithms for test metrics with matlab, C or Python.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, characterize, and conduct both objective and subjective IQ analyses for imaging systems. Create and implement algorithms for Client metrics.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to conceive, procure, and oversee image quality labs.
- Design and construct test fixtures tailored to specific testing requirements, such as prototype testers or test charts, incorporating optomechanical components. Oversee test equipment and establish test automation processes.
- Conduct research, design, and development of tools for test creation and data analysis, utilizing ADB, Matlab, or Python.
- Address and troubleshoot image quality-related issues throughout development cycles.
- Supervise and communicate image quality deliverables to cross-functional teams, providing guidance for product development.
- Proficient in utilizing Camera Test and laboratory tools and equipment, including power meters, spectrometers, collimators, etc. Capable of independently designing test setups with or without guidance.
- Skilled in image processing and analysis, development, and implementation of test metric algorithms using Matlab, Python, or C.
- Competent in operating laboratory systems, lab automation, data collection, and analysis. Familiarity with Android/Adb is a plus.
- Knowledgeable about sensors and optics, along with their evaluation methodologies.
- Capable of delivering presentations using JMP or Excel. • Self-motivated, persuasive, and analytical individual.
- Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Bachelor's degree in Photography, Imaging Science, Color Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 2 years of experience in image and video quality testing, metrics, and evaluation methods for benchmarking or characterizing cameras (sensors, lenses, modules, devices).
- Proficient in evaluating camera optical/sensing systems, image processing techniques, ISP blocks, or mainstream computational photography algorithms for mobile camera products.
- Hands-on experience in implementing, creating, and debugging image quality test infrastructure, including hardware, charts, software, automation, opto-mechanical components, motion control stages, precision alignment components, and optical filters (bandpass, IR cut-off), lenses. Familiarity with evaluation platforms such as DXO, Imatest, IQ Analyzer, etc.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: optical system design, sensor technology, imaging algorithms, camera ISP, computational photography features, imaging lab design and setup, and software QA processes.
